Privacy policy

Last updated: April 19, 2026.

Market Dwellings LLC ("Market Dwellings," "we," "us," or "our") cares about your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit marketdwellings.com or place an order, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

If anything here is unclear or you want to exercise any of the rights described below, email us at hello@marketdwellings.com.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Order information: name, shipping address, billing address, email, phone number, and the products you buy. Payment card details are sent directly to our payment processor and are not stored on our servers.
  • Account information: if you create a customer account, your name, email, password (stored hashed), and any preferences you save.
  • Customization content: the text, photos, logos, and designs you upload or create inside our product customizer. We store these so we can print your order and so you can reorder later.
  • Marketing signups: the email and/or phone number you give us when you subscribe to our newsletter, SMS list, or pop-up offers.
  • Reviews and photos: the review text, star rating, and any photos you submit through our reviews platform.
  • Customer service communications: the content of emails, messages, and chats you send us.
  • Brokerage portal: if you access a co-branded brokerage portal, your brokerage affiliation and any information your brokerage administrator has provided about you.

Information collected automatically

  • Device information: web browser, IP address, time zone, operating system, and referring site.
  • Usage information: the pages and products you view, the search terms you use, how you navigate the site, add-to-cart and checkout events, and how you interact with our emails (opens and clicks).
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see the Cookies section below.

Information from third parties

  • Payment processors send us confirmation that a payment was authorized, along with the billing name, last four digits of the card, and card brand.
  • Shipping carriers send us tracking events and delivery confirmations.
  • Social and advertising platforms may share aggregated campaign performance data when you reach us through an ad.

How we use your information

  • To process, produce, and ship your orders, and to communicate about them (order confirmations, proofs, shipping notices, delivery updates).
  • To provide customer service and respond to questions, returns, or issues.
  • To store your past designs and logos so you can reorder without starting over.
  • To send marketing emails and texts you've opted in to, and to personalize what you see in them.
  • To operate loyalty rewards, referral programs, and any discounts you qualify for.
  • To display reviews and photos you've chosen to submit on the relevant product page.
  • To measure how the site is performing, understand which products are working, and improve the experience.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and chargebacks.
  • To comply with legal obligations (tax reporting, subpoenas, regulatory requests).

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information for money. We do share it with service providers who help us run the business. Each of these only receives what it needs for its specific function:

  • Shopify — our e-commerce platform. Hosts the storefront, stores order and account data, runs checkout.
  • Shopify Payments / Stripe — processes credit card payments. Receives your card details directly; we never see the full card number.
  • PayPal, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Afterpay, Klarna (when you choose them at checkout) — process alternative payments under their own privacy policies.
  • Klaviyo — our email and SMS marketing platform. Stores your subscriber profile, the emails and texts we've sent you, and behavioral events like what you browsed, added to cart, and bought.
  • Smile.io — our loyalty-rewards program (MD Rewards). Stores your points balance, referrals, and redemptions.
  • Judge.me — our product-reviews platform. Stores the reviews and photos you submit and the verified-buyer status of each review.
  • Malomo — our post-purchase order-tracking experience. Receives shipping events so we can show you a branded tracking page.
  • Design Huddle — the in-browser design editor on our product pages and in our brokerage portals. Stores the designs you create and the assets (logos, photos) you upload.
  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — measures how the site is used. Receives pageviews, events, and a pseudonymous client ID; IP addresses are truncated.
  • Shopify Analytics — Shopify's native reporting layer. Receives the same session and order events GA4 does, independently.
  • Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram ads) — helps us measure ad performance and build audiences for retargeting. Receives events like page views, add-to-cart, and purchase, along with the click ID from the ad you arrived through.
  • Google Ads, TikTok, Pinterest advertising pixels (when active) — similar purpose to Meta Pixel for those networks.
  • Shipping carriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx) — receive the name, address, and order weight needed to deliver your package.
  • Customer service tools (our help desk and email systems) — store the content of your support tickets.
  • Professional advisors (accountants, lawyers) — receive only what's needed for their work.

We may also share information when required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, to protect the rights or safety of Market Dwellings or others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (in which case we'll notify you).

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies, pixels, and local storage for four purposes:

  • Strictly necessary — cart state, session, checkout, fraud prevention. These can't be turned off without breaking the site.
  • Functional — remember your preferences (recently viewed, saved designs, wishlist, language).
  • Analytics — GA4 and Shopify Analytics use cookies to measure traffic and improve the site.
  • Advertising — Meta Pixel and other ad networks use cookies and pixels so we can show you relevant ads and measure their performance.

You can control cookies through your browser's settings or, where shown, through the cookie-preferences banner on our site. Declining analytics or advertising cookies may limit personalization but won't stop you from buying.

Your rights

All customers

You can ask us at any time to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct anything that's inaccurate.
  • Delete your information (subject to records we must keep for tax, fraud, or legal reasons).
  • Export your information in a portable format.
  • Opt out of marketing emails (every email has an unsubscribe link) or texts (reply STOP).

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@marketdwellings.com. We'll verify who you are before we act on the request, and we'll respond within 30 days (or the timeframe your local law requires if it's shorter).

California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you live in California, you also have the right to:

  • Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we've collected about you, the sources, the business purposes, and the categories of third parties we've shared it with in the past 12 months.
  • Request deletion of your personal information.
  • Correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We use advertising pixels (described above) that may constitute "sharing" under California law. To opt out, email us or use the Global Privacy Control signal — we honor it automatically.
  • Limit the use of sensitive personal information. We don't use sensitive personal information for any purpose beyond what's needed to provide our service.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

An authorized agent can make these requests on your behalf with written authorization.

Other US state residents

Residents of Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Oregon, Texas, Montana, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have rights similar to California's — access, correction, deletion, portability, and opt-out of targeted advertising. Use the same contact method above.

EU, UK, and EEA residents

If you're in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or the European Economic Area, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) gives you rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to, and port your personal information, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it.

Our lawful bases for processing are:

  • Contract: processing needed to fulfill your order and provide the service you asked for.
  • Consent: marketing communications, non-essential cookies, and optional features (you can withdraw consent any time).
  • Legitimate interests: site security, fraud prevention, product improvement, direct marketing to existing customers.
  • Legal obligation: tax records, regulatory responses.

Market Dwellings is based in the United States. When your personal information is transferred from the EU/UK/EEA to the US, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, for legally adequate protection. You can get a copy of these by emailing us.

You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We hope you'll come to us first so we can try to resolve the issue directly.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Our site honors the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: when your browser sends GPC, we treat it as an opt-out of targeted advertising and the "sale/share" of personal information under California law. Browsers' Do Not Track signals have no consistent standard, so we don't respond to them separately — but GPC does the same job more reliably.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it:

  • Order records: 7 years, for tax and accounting.
  • Customer account: until you ask us to close it, or after 5 years of inactivity.
  • Customization designs and uploaded logos: while your account is active, plus 2 years, so you can reorder.
  • Marketing subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus a brief suppression list so we don't accidentally re-email you.
  • Support tickets: 3 years after resolution.
  • Analytics data: 14 months in GA4 (our current setting); Shopify Analytics retains per Shopify's policy.
  • Security logs: up to 90 days for active logs; longer for incident-related records.

When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

Children's information

Market Dwellings is a business-to-agent service for real estate professionals. The site is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

Data security

Shopify's infrastructure is PCI-DSS compliant for payment data and uses TLS for data in transit. We limit internal access to personal information to team members and service providers who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security, but we take the obligation seriously.

Links to other sites

Our site may link to websites we don't operate. We aren't responsible for their privacy practices; please read their policies before sharing information with them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices, tools, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, if the change is significant, we'll email registered customers or post a notice on the site.
